Specialitisms: Welfare site that caters for young women aged 10 to 17 and young men aged 10 to 14. St. Catherine’s is comprised of a complex of units providing a continuum of care from secure accommodation to supported living in an open environment. We cater for young people with a diversity of presenting needs - self harm, sexual exploitation and a range of mental health and social dysfunction issues, including challenging behaviours across the spectrum. Each young person is individually assessed and a proactive care plan implemented. Our staff team are comprised of a group of very experienced child care workers, who work intensively with the young people to address their needs. The team is supported by professionals from the Brighter Futures; this includes psychological/psychiatric support, and a range of therapeutic interventions including specialist RMNs, speech & language therapy and music therapy. Education is provided on site with access to a full curriculum. Our experienced, multi-disciplined site nurse and G.P. look after the young people's general health and medical matters. St. Catherine’s is currently undergoing an extensive expansion programme which will greatly enhance the resources we have available for young people within the secure unit – and also across the site.
